Bootcamp Learning Objectives
Week 1
After week 1, students will have:
- Learned the basics of HTML by building a website about cats
- Started the second project of freeCodeCamp’s (New) Responsive Web Design course and be able to continue on their own
- Learned about the fundamentals of CSS
Day 1
After day 1, students will:
- Receive a computer
- Create a GitHub account
- Understand that file and folders can be saved locally1
- Understand the basics of HTML
- Document structure
- What is a tag?
- Indentation
- Log in to freeCodeCamp and complete steps 1-6 of the (New) Responsive Web Design’s first project, Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App
Day 2
After day 2, students will:
- Be able to manage expectations as a software developer
- Know how to efficiently search for answers using the internet
- Complete steps 7-13 of freeCodeCamp’s (New) Responsive Web Design course’s first project, Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App
Day 3
After day 3, students will:
- Be able to describe the difference between tags and elements
- Complete steps 13-18 of freeCodeCamp’s (New) Responsive Web Design course’s first project, Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App
Day 4
After day 4, students will:
- Be able to explain attributes and the difference between parent and child elements
- Complete steps 19-41 of freeCodeCamp’s (New) Responsive Web Design course’s first project, Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App
Day 5
After day 5, students will:
- Be able to open up the browser tools to learn how other websites are made
- Finish steps 56-67 of freeCodeCamp’s (New) Responsive Web Design course’s first project, Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App
- Start steps 1-5 of freeCodeCamp’s (New) Responsive Web Design course’s second project, Learn Basic CSS by Building a Cafe Menu
